Misc

I figured since I'm on a roll and I don't know when I'll manage to get the SD card back into the computer I thought I'd throw out some random photos from the camera.

 Evening cruise

Chris and Jason went skiing at Crystal (while I was in California :)

Chris got to bring a coworker to drill with him.

Getting ready to airdrop, special delivery for Yakima!

What'd you do at work today? Flew to Moses lake and back, airdropped some stuff on cows.
 Chris' "office"

Tulips festival (before the tulips bloomed, poor timing on our part)

Stopped by Anacortes to remind ourselves why we live in Washington.

 Beautiful.

 Cherry trees in bloom.

 Rhodies in bloom.

Garden planted (before I knew it was going to rain for two months straight... poor garden)

3rd Anniversary

Time has absolutely flown by. I can't believe that it was time to celebrate our third wedding anniversary!

We wanted a little mini-getaway to celebrate and found a deal in Victoria. Early, EARLY Saturday morning we took off to Port Angeles and in just a few hours they were checking our passports in Victoria. We had a great trip of eating, drinking, walking and relaxing. We had no plans and just did as we felt. My favorite moments were our fancy seafood dinner, impulsive IMAX movies and our loooooong morning walk (complete with coffee from a neighborhood cafe).

 Goodbye Washington!

Hello Victoria!
The view from our favorite breakfast spot.

We watched a crazy street performer.

Found this beautiful park on our walk.

Looking back at WA, we decided Canada steals our views.

 Looking towards Victoria Harbour
 Cutest little houseboat community.

Freezing cold, layered up with gloves on but enjoying our walk.

North Carolina

Chris and I went all stealthy and surprised his Mom for Mother's Day. It took a lot of coordination, plotting and planning, but we pulled it off. Hard to believe we flew all the way across the country and were standing in her living room before she know what happened. We had a great visit and got to enjoy plenty of time with each other. Here are a few photo highlights from the trip:

We got to meet James, Jennie's boyfriend.

Listened to some live music over a bottle of wine.

 Enjoyed the NC weather.

Went to Old Salem and got to see where Jennie goes to school.

 |Caught a local baseball game, Go Crawdads!

Went to Chimney Rock State Park for some hiking.

The Hunger Games was filmed near here!

Watched Jennie perform with the Winston Salem Symphony

What a great visit! Can't wait to go back again :)

Kayaking

A few months ago we decided that we needed a kayak. We had rented a tandem multiple times so we knew we enjoyed it (and our marriage could handle a tandem). So after hours of scouring Craigslist I put a call out to Facebook. Our friends Mike and Elaine happened to have a tandem that was collecting dust in their garage. After some fancy coordination we swapped the money and a kayak and everyone was happy. The kayak is of the Hobie breed so it's a peddle kayak.. I was a little unsure of the whole peddling concept but now I know that paddling is so overrated. So here's a collection of some kayaking photos. I think we're putting the thing to good use (if the weather would get better we'd use it a whole lot more!)

 There she is!
