Yet again, I'm behind on my blogging...
Got to do a quick catch up before we launch off on vacation on Friday.
Two weeks ago we spent a wonderful weekend at Long Beach with Mom & Dad and a bunch of friends. It was the kite festival that weekend which was awesome, it just lacked on thing... wind. Bummer for the international kitests (is that word?) that had traveled near and far for the festival.
Walker family -
On the way home from the beach we stopped to see the 9-11 World Trade Center steel be delivered to Kitsap County for the new memorial they're going to build. It was escorted from the state line by about 900 motorcyclist. Glad to see people proud of their country!
Last weekend we went out to Wenatchee for my friend Keri's wedding. Keri and I worked together at Trotter's and have been friends since. With our big vacation coming up Chris and I didn't want to spring the $120 for a hotel room in Wenatchee. We figured we'd camp instead. I called all the state parks and campsites Keri recommended in Wenatchee, but there was nothing available (I might have waited until the last minute...) I made some more phone calls and proudly reported to Chris that I had found a campsite in Leavenworth (!) for $22. It seemed odd that everything was booked except this campsite. We arrived and the campsite was perfect. Perfect if you don't mind camping 10 ft from the highway guardrail within site of the Safeway grocery store.
I will admit, it was a bit odd to get ready for a wedding while camping...
We camp in style...what a classy pair.
The wedding was beautiful and the threatening clouds held off - however we did FREEZE TO DEATH. They got married in their backyard of their house they just finished building. Lets just say the house is amazing and the view of the orchards, Mission Ridge ski area and the Wenachtee valley even more amazing.
After this post I'm packing for Walker Walkabout 2010! Here's a brief summary of our agenda:
A little bit of this:

And a whole lot of this:
Stay tuned for a vacation blog when we return. That is if we don't get stuck at the Canadian border!
