Odds and Ends

Odds and ends around this household, so don't expect anything exciting!

I was just looking through my camera and realized I completely missed the Halloween photos - so here's a few. We went to the pumpkin patch in Kingston, but they were waaay over priced ($25 for a small pumpkin?? really??) so we hit up the pumpkin patch at Albertsons for some cheapo pumpkins.

And the results of our carvings -

Chris had to work - so that just left me home to torture the dog on Halloween night.

In an effort to mitigate all household disasters while Chris is gone we installed a new dishwasher. The old one was borderline it would survive, and the idea of a broken dishwasher/flood/whatever while I'm home alone was not very appealing. We went out to Sears on their "friends and family day" (apparently everyone is friends and family to sears) and got one killer deal on one killer dishwasher.

I think Chris was relaxing on the job.

There was a stowaway in the new dishwasher box.

After few trips to the hardware store and look! a new dishwasher!

Next household project... the upstairs bathroom. We've managed to "ignore" this project for awhile... the downstairs bathroom was such a challenge we weren't necessarily excited to start on the master suite. But, it's gotta get done.

Awhile back, while Chris was on a work trip I pulled the trigger and started the job. After ripping off the molding I got the new paint up on the wall. Big thank you to the random lady at Home Depot that helped me color match the paint to our tile - it's fabulous! I think eventually I'll run out of things to paint around this house... Because I was painting solo, no photo evidence is available.

Then -
Demolition! And no project is complete around here without a little mold discovery... We're mold fixin' pros now!

Back to the demolition - this is the easy part. It's the putting it back together that can get challenging.
Getting the vapor barrier up and cement board up and we're ready to tile!
The tile isn't completely done. It still needs grout, but I'll give a sneak peak.

Laid out-
And on the wall!

And, our tree!
AND -

Go get 'em Mom & Grama! Show them how tough the Book women are!!
