L-A-Z-Y

This has to be our laziest weekend since the wedding (well for that matter long before the wedding)... I got to enjoy my first two day weekend in a long time.

Friday night my friend Sarah came over for pizza and a movie (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past - funny chick flick, sorry Chris). Nothing exciting, just a low key night.

Saturday we slept in, then crawled to the couch, poured some coffee and watched another movie (Speed and Angels - documentary on two fighter pilots, very good). It felt so good to just spend a lazy Saturday morning lounging around. We took for for Tacoma that afternoon because Chris had drill. I dropped him off at Camp Murray then headed to Auburn to spend some time with Kyanne. We cruised around the Southcenter mall and managed to not spend much money. But we did spring for some .50 cotton candy. It made our teeth hurt just looking at it. That evening we picked Chris up after his gig (ps - Kyanne, that black suburban we saw parked while waiting for Chris was Christine Gregoire's.) Headed to Auburn and met up with mom and dad for a bit.

This morning Chris and I both slept in really late. (hey, 9 is late when you're normally up by 4:30) After a bit of lounging we decided we shouldn't waste our Sunday too. The day was spent scrubbing floors, cleaning windows, dusting shelves, oiling the wood, blah, blah, blah. All those chores that were well, well overdue. Little bit of grocery shopping, homemade chicken dumpling soup and here we are at the end of the weekend.

I got on to update to a cool Thanksgiving background but got sidetracked by this one - why not throw it up to honor those men and women that won't be home to spend the holidays with their families?

- thanks for the sacrifice so we can sleep safe at night.

We're Alive!!

First off - sorry about the drop off the face of the earth. I'm too busy enjoying my 10 hour/6 day a week work schedule (topped off with physical therapy, Spanish class and all those other little life obligations) to get much blogging in!!

Since I left you guys we've been pretty boring, but here's a recap...

Eileen was up on business so we caught up with her and helped her family fill sandbags to protect their house against the leaky Howard Hanson dam upstream (see mom's blog for better detail).

That's right - hold your water Howard!

Hi Dad!

The next weekend Eileen spent Friday night with us and we went out for Caribbean food at a local restaurant. Complete with our own private steel drum bad (ok - we were the only ones at the restaurant). Saturday I worked and Sunday was recovery!

Last weekend we celebrated Halloween in Long Beach with Mom & Dad. I had to work on Saturday so it was a short - but worth it weekend!

No Book family Halloween is complete without Spidey Dogs.

Bat Dog made an appearance

Somebody needs to tell this dog he is not lap-size anymore

Mom & Chris duked it out Wii style

We made a trip to Cape Disappointment, but couldn't go to the lighthouse because the Coast Guard was having firing exercises. What a disappointment.

Hey look - what are all these good looking people doing in one place?

Somebody enjoyed his trip to the beach -

Nothing overly exciting on deck for this weekend. Chris has drill, I'm working on Saturday and Mom is coming to visit on Sunday :)

Nope...

Haven't died - just extremely busy working a ton of overtime and weekends. Boo. Standby for an update soon (nothing exciting though because of all the work!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!!!

Love the Walkers : )

A Bellingham Wedding!

Note - I don't know what the heck is going on with the photo spacing - oh well...

Sorry for the delay in the weekend post. I have been really busy with work.

On Sunday we drove up to Bellingham to celebrate my friend Kurtis' wedding day. We left here a bit early so we could have some extra time to ourselves in Bellingham. We got to drive by my old house and all my favorite places. We stopped by campus to walk around. I've only been gone three years and they've added a HUGE new building to south campus. I guess life goes on without me...

I remember standing in this same place three years ago in a black gown and funny hat.

Go Vikes! Once a Viking, always a Viking...

I use to study to this view every day

The class of 2006 time capsule!

The wedding was wonderful - they couldn't have had better weather. The reception was held in at the Bellingham Yacht Club and it was fun to mix with old classmates (both college and high school, Kurtis is a AHS alum). Chris and I both agreed that being wedding spectators is much lower stress then being the major players!

Look who we saw! The Wentzels came up (Brandon and Kurtis were roommates)

Bad photo - but us with Kurtis -

Kurtis and his beautiful new wife, Rose -

The couple sailed away on a yacht tied up outside the reception - talk about an exit in style! All in all a great weekend! I LOVE Bellingham... wonder if I could get Chris to move back there with me :)

A Weekend to Relax

I have been insanely busy at work lately so relaxing this weekend was welcomed.

Friday we had bear neutered so we took a low key weekend. We tried out a new vet. Dr. Larson is a mobile vet (http://peninsulamobilevet.com/). It is basically an entire vet clinic - on wheels! He came to the house and parked in the driveway (ok - ours is too steep. He parked the neighbors driveway, she referred us to him). It makes vet visits sooo convenient. I had to work on Saturday and Chris stayed home and watched the dog. Unless he has his cone on he has to be watched constantly to make sure he doesn't like his stitches. He put the cone on him in the evenings before bed. Are we bad dog parents if we think he looks absolutely ridiculous with that thing on??

Post vet appointment - poor dog was still drugged up

Bear with his cone :(

Isn't that a pathetic looking dog??

We dusted off the Wii and had a friendly competition Saturday night (I think I lost though...)

Sunday we took it easy and celebrated our 6 month wedding anniversary! I know it's not a whole lot to celebrate but the secret is I had a coupon for a real nice seafood restaurant in Edmonds. We woke up early Sunday morning and took the dog on a long walk in the wonderful fall weather. We but the cone on the dog and stuck him in the kennel and we caught a late afternoon ferry over to Edmonds for a wonderful seafood brunch at Arnie's. The weather turned a bit windy so it was quite the boat ride over! It was a great to enjoy the afternoon and each other's company.

The restaurant on the Edmond's Marina

Us on the ferry! (notice I'm not smart enough to get the water in the background)

We had a very relaxing afternoon but came home to this...

How'd he get his cone off?!?!

Saturday evening Sears was having a big sale so I got Chris his Birthday/Christmas present a bit early. He's been stalking Sears for this toolbox just waiting for a good deal. He found a great deal so we trooped down there and picked it up! I guess there won't be anything under the tree for Chris this year ; )

Here he is playing with his new toy!

On deck for the weekend - drill for Chris and a wedding in Bellingham!
